Piano moving
Your Seasoned Mover!
Aaron has been moving pianos of all descriptions for decades! Now that he's older, he does decline most locations with split levels, but with the PianoLift, he can single-handedly (though we make him take help along!) move even full-size concert grands on and off stages, and to other locations around our area. Together, we have moved thousands of pianos, from small spinets to grands to antiques. We are fully insured for the actual value of the pianos we transport.

Piano Humidity Control
Tuning stability is largely affected by the environment the piano lives in. In addition, we do see split soundboards and pinblocks in Montana, due to fluctuating and often very dry indoor winter air.
Our first recommendation is to humidify the house or venue the piano is in, but this is not always an option! We have been installing Dampp-Chaser's Piano Life Saver Systems for many years and do recommend them in our area, especially at higher elevation.

PianoDisc Installation

Regulation
If you're finding you enjoy playing your piano less than in years past, or are having difficulty learning harder music, it may be time for regulation! We'd be happy to evaluate your piano's needs and make suggestions if it can be performing better!
Voicing
The sound of your piano is greatly affected by its hammers. When was the last time they had some attention? Voicing, filing and replacing can all be options in improving the tone of the piano you have!
Rebuilding
Does your piano need more than just a couple hours of maintenance? Maybe the hammers are worn out, keytops are cracked, or the strings don't really ring anymore. We'd be happy to discuss solutions that are just right for you and your instrument! All work is done in-house, except for top-level refinishing that we do outsource. The services we offer are much more extensive than the photos below, encompassing full action replacements, action geometry solutions, and lyre reconstruction. If you're interested in having a piano rebuilt, please reach out to us for estimates on your options.
New Strings
While pianos don't need new strings as often as a guitar or violin, it does breathe new life into an older instrument, especially if there is rust or corrosion.
Bridge Repair/Replacement
The wood bridge on a piano is under a lot of tension from the strings, and sometimes cracks like this one. There will be no tuning stability here until the bridge is re-capped!
New Hammers
Hammers are due for replacement when the felt has worn away enough to make them too light, or they can no longer be voiced for a pleasing tone in the piano.
New Keytops
Whether your old keytops are chipped, cracked or stained, we can get them replaced in only a day or two!
Refinishing
We can set you up with the best regional refinisher in the piano trade. Nothing makes an old piano look better than a facelift like this Steinway received!
Soundboard Replacement
Some higher-end pianos can have another 75+ year life with a new pinblock and soundboard. A broken board doesn't have to be the death knell it once was!
